2024 Liturgical Calendar
Although the feasts, fasts, and seasons of the Liturgical calendar stay the same each year, the date on which many of these observances begin (or end) changes. This is because many of the feasts are moveable.
Most notably, the date of Easter changes each year. It’s the first Sunday after the Jewish Passover which is to say, the first Sunday after the first full moon occurring on or after the vernal (Spring) equinox. The date of Easter determines the start of Lent as well as the date of Pentecost and a number of other smaller observances.
If you don’t feel like keeping track of all these things - I have a cheat sheet for you! Here’s a FREE printable of the most notable dates on the Liturgical calendar in (mostly) 2024. (The official start of the liturgical new year is Advent / December 3, 2023 so this calendar begins there as well).
Also included in this free printable is the Sanctoral Calendar for anyone interested in being intentional about observing saints’ feast days as well.
